St. Joseph’s Pro-Life Group’s Work and Events
In our parish, our St. Joseph’s Pro-Life Group publicizes events of the ministries in the bulletin each week. We coordinate with the Catholic Pro-Life Community, the Respect Life ministry of the diocese. We meet each month in our parish, and we learn about pro-life ministries, issues, and events at the meetings. We host pro-life presenters, discuss Church documents, and we volunteer in whatever way we can to bring a pro-life way of life to our parish and community.
We network with local pro-life groups such as Right to Life of Ellis County and First Look Sexual Health and Pregnancy Center and with the parish St Vincent de Paul Society, and the White Rose Women’s Center.
Our Pro-life Group also maintains and keeps records for Our Lady of Sorrows Memorial Garden, which offers burial of infants who die before birth and keeps a Book of Remembrance containing engraved names of infants who died before birth. The purpose of the Memorial Garden is to proclaim the sanctity of life of the unborn, regardless of age or condition, and to promote the healing of those who mourn them.
St. Joseph’s Crafters are a group of people who sew, quilt, crochet, knit, and make rosaries for the benefit of the parish, the group, and pro-life ministries.
See the website of the Catholic Pro-Life Community of North Texas at www.prolifedallas.org and the website of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops at www.usccb.org/about/pro-life-activities/.
The Pro-Life Group also supports the pro-life sign on our campus.
